Welcome to the third edition of Enterprise Update - the monthly e-zine featuring the latest developments in the most exciting companies from the Enterprise Hub Network. This month we report on the success across the Network in raising investment. 2007-2008 saw the Enterprise Hubs working intensively with 390 High Growth companies which raised a total of £38million in investment during the year.
Favorit raises seed funding from angel investor.
Thames Valley Enterprise Hub start-up company Favorit has announced the closing of its seed funding investment round, with investment provided by David Richmond, serial entrepreneur and angel investor. The investment will allow Favorit to launch its Blogging aggregation platform business, and to accelerate the time-to-market of its first product.

$12 million funding success for Vivacta
Sittingbourne Enterprise Hub company Vivacta has announced that it has raised $12 million from a successful Series B financing round. This will be used to drive forward the commercialisation and launch of its first highly sensitive Point of Care (PoC) immunoassay system, based on its patented piezofilm sensor technology.

Silverbear hit gold with £1.8m contract win
Surrey Enterprise Hub client Silverbear have beaten stiff competition from around the country to land a £1.8m contract. The development house Silverbear have been awarded the contract by Yorkshire Forward, the regional development agency for Yorkshire & Humber, to develop a regional information system.
