The trade visit was organised as the first stage of a new initiative to proactively internationalise Hub client companies. For the past year David Butler, Canterbury Enterprise Hub Director, has been working closely with David Denny from Radford University in Virginia to set up an international Reciprocal Soft-Landings Network (RSLN).

David Butler explained, “The purpose of the new network is to help early-stage companies to gain reliable overseas support, and enable them to penetrate foreign markets. We’re delighted to be able to offer access to this new resource through the Hub Network.”

To date the RSLN project has generated interest from incubators, science parks, universities and economic development agencies in eight US locations, plus Poland, Canada, Australia, Northern Ireland, India, Nigeria, Spain, Norway and France, and it is hoped to formally launch the programme towards the end of this year.
